Job Summary
Develop a plan of care identifying interventions to achieve expected outcomes for higher acuity patients, while providing comprehensive assessments and collecting health data from patients, families, and providers. Communicate the care plan and patient data to physicians and the interdisciplinary team, documenting all interventions and communications. Individualize patient and family teaching based on specific learning needs, assess cultural backgrounds, and provide guidance on disease management, emergency care, and drug information. Assist technical staff with contrast injections, venipuncture, IV management, and oxygen therapy. If skilled, conduct daily rounds for wound/ostomy/skin care patients, monitoring treatment plan effectiveness. Participate in performance improvement activities and nursing research to support evidence-based care. Work nights from 7pm to 7:30am with every third weekend and holiday track, earning $36.00 to $55.80 hourly.
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree or higher in Nursing
- If Associate Degree in Nursing is the highest degree held, must graduate with a Bachelor?s Degree in Nursing within five years of position start date (effective September 1, 2021)
- Current incumbents with an RN Diploma are grandfathered
- RN Diploma Nurse if position start date is prior to September 1, 2021
- Active Illinois State Nursing License
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association within 6 months of start date
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - National CPR Foundation (NCPRF)
- Current CPR Certification issued by the American Heart Association
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Nursing
- 1 year of inpatient nursing experience
