Job Summary
RN Progressive Care unit 6NW where RNs receive Critical Care training and work with more critically ill patients than on a general Med Surg unit. The RN provides professional nursing care under the Nurse Leader according to the nursing process, incorporating patient/family centered care, and collaborates with APPs and physicians. The role includes patient/family education, documentation in the health record, and participation in rounds. Recognizes impact of nursing care on patient outcomes and supports teaching strategies for patient/family; requires MI RN licensure and BLS certification; unit emphasizes evidence-based practice and Magnet-designated hospital environment.
Required Qualifications
- Associates or Diploma in Nursing Required
- Bachelors in Nursing Required within 5 years for GN or RN with less than 1 year of experience
- MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required within 60 days of hire
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire from one of the following organizations - American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Canadian Heart and Stroke
