Job Summary
Direct daily workflow, staffing, training, and development within the Emergency Room and Acute Care departments while serving as a liaison between the hospital and local EMS and trauma referral centers. Coordinate a multidisciplinary approach to trauma care and emergency preparedness, monitor clinical and financial performance, and facilitate staff meetings and QAPI programs. Investigate and resolve patient, physician, and staff concerns; conduct annual performance reviews; and analyze volumes and metrics to drive improvement initiatives. Maintain departmental dashboards, ensure regulatory compliance, and provide direct patient care as needed. Requires a BSN, current RN license, and CEN certification.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN) required or enrolled in a BSN program with completion within 2 years
- Current, unrestricted RN license in Alaska or another U.S. state (must apply for AK license before start date)
- Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC
- Certification in Emergency Nursing (CEN) required within 2 years of hire
- Clinical competency must be demonstrated within 3 months of hire
- Minimum 3 years of Emergency Room nursing experience in a similarly sized hospital
- Deep understanding of trauma, emergency, and acute care nursing practices
- Strong leadership, strategic planning, and team management skills
- Ability to educate and mentor nursing staff
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
- Problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills
- Capacity to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high standards of care
- Proficient in planning and analyzing budgets, performance metrics, and staffing needs
- Ability to respond effectively in high-stress medical environments
- Employment Type: W-2 only (1099 not accepted)
