Job Summary
Provide direct nursing care to patients utilizing the nursing process, performing technical functions and administering IV medications, blood products, and parenteral nutrition. Maintain patient records, ensure a safe environment, and act as a patient advocate while collaborating with physicians to devise individualized care plans. Document pertinent data, delegate or supervise team members, and participate in performance improvement efforts. Approach distressed patients and families calmly and professionally, maintaining confidentiality and operating complex equipment. Requires a La State Board of Nursing License, CPR, and one year of RN experience.

- ACLS
- PALS
- One year of RN experience
- Current knowledge of clinical practice
- Ability to operate and handle many kinds of complex equipment
- Ability to demonstrate clinical competence and maintain current knowledge in caring for adolescent through geriatric patients
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Knowledge of theory, principles, techniques, and practice of professional nursing
- Knowledge of scientific principles and nursing research
- Knowledge of preparation, administration, and actions of medications
- Knowledge of treatments and medical procedures
- Knowledge of counseling and teaching techniques
- Knowledge of medical equipment as it relates to patient care
