Job Summary
Intake Clinician/RN role at Perimeter Behavioral Health in Springfield, MO, handling clinical intake assessments and patient admissions for inpatient behavioral health. Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive intake interviews to determine levels of care, assessing psychosocial and emotional status across diverse age groups, applying cultural and ethical considerations, employing crisis intervention when needed, serving as primary liaison between clients and treatment teams, coordinating with insurance providers for verification, facilitating communication among clinical staff and business offices, managing high-volume inquiries and walk-in assessments, organizing intake appointments and referral processes, and analyzing data for referral development. Requirements include a Master's degree in Behavioral Health or Missouri/Compact RN license, strong knowledge of behavioral health theory and practice, proficiency with Windows-based software, experience with PPOs/Managed Care, at least 1 year in inpatient behavioral health, experience with clinical assessment and treatment, familiarity with local resources, data management skills, and a commitment to patient-centered care.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Behavioral Health field OR Missouri/Compact RN license
- Knowledge of behavioral health theory and practice
- Understanding of legal and ethical issues in patient care
- Proficiency with computer systems and Windows-based software
- Strong knowledge of insurance systems, including PPOs and Managed Care
- 1+ year experience in inpatient behavioral health setting
- Background in clinical assessment and treatment
- Familiarity with community/regional mental health resources
- Experience with statistical analysis and data management
- Track record of excellence in customer service
- Strong clinical judgment and assessment skills
- Excellence in written and verbal communication
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
