RN PRN position at Houston Methodist Baytown Cancer Center providing professional nursing care, including nursing assessments, assisting with exams and treatment, patient education, and maintenance of medical records. Collaborates with physicians and interprofessional health care team to facilitate, coordinate and maintain compassionate, efficient, quality care and achievement of treatment outcomes. Demonstrates clinical competence in care delivery, use of technology, medication administration, procedures, and emergency management; acts as patient/family advocate. Assumes leadership roles with progressive responsibility, including participating in or leading unit/shared governance initiatives, serving as charge nurse or preceptor to students or new employees, and contributing to service line or hospital-wide initiatives in partnership with management. Requires RN licensure in Texas and BLS; Magnet certification is preferred. Strong communication, assessment, organizational, problem-solving skills, and the ability to function independently within Nurse Practice Act guidelines. This is a part-time, PRN nursing role with standard day shift and on-call considerations as outlined by the department.
