Job Summary
Obtain prior authorization for medications and procedures by contacting insurance companies and coordinating with healthcare providers. Document approval or denial results in patient charts and notify ordering providers if authorization is denied to help resolve the issue. Collect patient demographics and insurance benefits from Registration, send supporting medical records, and serve as a liaison among patients, insurers, and medical staff. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of new medications, procedures, and diagnoses. Works closely with the office nurse to ensure proper authorization is obtained. Full-time, 40 hours per week.
