Assess patient preoperative and postoperative status, interpreting monitor data to manage cardiovascular, respiratory, and neurological systems. Implement individualized perianesthesia plans for general, monitored anesthesia care, regional, and local anesthesia recovery while administering medications safely. Provide acute pain management, wound care, and infection prevention, ensuring patients return to normothermia and baseline physiological levels. Evaluate patient progress, transfer care as needed, and provide accurate hand-off reports to teammates. Document nursing care completely and collaborate effectively with other disciplines. Act as a patient advocate, providing education and involving support persons in care decisions while maintaining privacy and dignity. Participate in quality review projects, performance appraisals, and daily safety huddles. Maintain required competencies and pursue professional growth.
