Job Summary
Provides direct patient care in the pre/post procedure phase for ophthalmology surgery in an ambulatory surgery center, monitoring patients to optimize outcomes and safety. Performs and documents assessments, education, and evaluation of patients and families, and responds to life-threatening situations using nursing standards and protocols. Delivers nursing care in a technically complex environment, applying critical thinking and decisive judgment with minimal supervision in a fast-paced setting. Eligible to educate patients/families across age, culture, and condition, tailoring information to individual learning needs. Requires RN licensure with ACLS/PALS within specified hires and CPR/BLS certifications; BSN preferred. This is an onsite, part-time role with no remote option.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in state of Colorado
- ACLS within 90 days of hire
- PALS within 90 days of hire
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred)
- BLS/CPR for Professional Rescuer with current card
- Minimum 6 months RN experience or UCHealth Fellowship completion
