Job Summary
Coordinate care across the continuum by assessing physical, psychological, and social needs of patients during initial diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship. Organize clinical visits and serve as a resource for patients and families, providing education on available resources, support groups, and community services. Ensure compliance with care plans while facilitating referrals to appropriate support systems. Requires strong oncology background, BSN, and CPR certification. Day shift rotation from 8:00am to 4:30pm with weekend and holiday coverage.
Required Qualifications
- Strong oncology background
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), or equivalent experience
- Specific training as an Oncology Patient Navigator
- Critical thinking skills
- Interpersonal skills
- Ability to develop collaborative relationships both internally and externally
- Ability to multi-task, handle stressful situations in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge and clinical expertise in community services available to patients and their families
- Over three years of clinical oncology experience in an outpatient or inpatient setting
- Current R.N. licensure in Massachusetts
- Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired
- Achievement of Oncology Nurse Certification within first eighteen months of employment
Desired Qualifications
- Certification like OCN or willingness to obtain within 1 year of hire
- Current R.N. licensure in Massachusetts, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
