Job Summary
Conduct skilled professional nursing care for terminally ill patients in their residences as prescribed by physicians and compliant with state standards. Manage evening and night shift coverage from 4:30 PM to 8:00 AM, with primary activity occurring between 4:30 PM and 10:00 PM and lighter overnight workload handling urgent needs. Provide autonomous end-of-life care to patients and families in the community while residing within 50 miles of a Mercy hospital. Requires current RN license in Missouri, BLS CPR certification, and a licensed driver's license.
Required Qualifications
- nursing degree from an accredited school
- current RN license in the state of Missouri
- BLS CPR Certification through American Heart Association
- Must be a licensed driver
- Must reside within 50 miles of Mercy
- Must reside within 1 hour of a Mercy Hospital
Desired Qualifications
- Recent hospice or long term care experience
- Experience with issues related to death/dying and bereavement
