Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive care for pediatric hematology, oncology, and BMT patients in an ambulatory infusion setting, administering chemotherapy, biotherapy, and blood products. Manage clinic operations including extensive phone triage and shared facilitation of clinical research trials across gastroenterology, nephrology, and neurology services. Requires APHON chemotherapy certification, PALS, and BLS within 6 months of start, plus 2 years of recent pediatric or adult infusion nursing experience. BSN or ADN graduates must enroll in BSN program within 3 years. External candidates complete OHSU and Nursing New Employee Orientation (NEO) for approximately one week, followed by a transition program ranging from 3 days to 26 weeks depending on care area.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience with Epic EMR, including Epic Beacon application
- APHON chemotherapy/biotherapy administration certification- or obtained within 6 months of start
- PALS certification
- BLS certification
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience (within the last 3 years) experience in Pediatric or Adult Hematology/Oncology/BMT nursing
- 2 years of recent (within the last 3 years) Previous experience in Pediatric or Adult Ambulatory Infusion nursing
- BSN Graduates: Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from a program accredited by Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (CNEA) 30 days before start date
- ADN Graduates: Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program 30 days before the start date
- Associate degree Nurses required to enroll in BSN program within 3 years of hire and complete within 5 years of hire
- Current, unencumbered Oregon State Registered Nurse License
- BLS at time of hire and must be issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
- BLS must not expire during orientation
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation
