Job Summary
Provide comprehensive perianesthesia nursing care for patients undergoing anesthesia or sedation, including bedside assessment, planning, coordination, and evaluation of care; supervise and delegate to ensure safe, effective care; cross-training between main perianesthesia and day surgery center; role includes potential charge nurse or preceptor duties when applicable; participates in development of patient outcomes, utilizes evidence-based practice, and maintains competencies in accordance with regulatory requirements; shift includes 8-hour day/evening roles with occasional weekends; part-time 0.8 FTE (64 hours per two-week pay period) and requires current MN/WI RN licensure depending on state, with BLS required and ACLS/PALS as applicable.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Registered Nurse – MN Board of Nursing required if working in state of MN upon hire
- WI Department of Safety & Professional Services required if working in the state of WI upon hire
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association OR Current BLS certification from the American Red Cross OR Allina in-house BLS training (within 30 days of hire)
- ACLS/BLS Tier 2-Advanced Cardiac Life Support - Allina Health required by completion of orientation
- PALS - Pediatric Advance Life Support - Allina Health preferred by most sites
- CPAN American Board of Perianesthesia Nursing Certification preferred
- CAPA American Board of Perianesthesia Nursing Certification preferred
