Job Summary
Assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care while monitoring, recording, and communicating patient conditions. Advocate for ethical, holistic care by partnering in care planning to promote autonomy and dignity. Facilitate learning for patients, families, nursing staff, and the interdisciplinary team, including physicians and ancillary personnel. Align practice with safety and quality by identifying problems and integrating evidence-based strategies to improve outcomes. Engage in ongoing professional development and participate in educational program planning. Perform high-level disinfection based on departmental equipment and utilize electronic health records and communication systems. Manage multiple responsibilities, urgent responses, and challenging situations using independent critical judgment. Maintain currency of essential competencies and practice at the top of the license within legal parameters.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse in the State of Practice
- BLS certification
- Must maintain BLS certification
- Must be a registered nurse currently licensed in the state of employment
- At least one year of experience preferred
- Must meet the individual nursing unit specifications regarding educational requirements during employment
Desired Qualifications
- BSN in Nursing preferred
- Specialty Certification is preferred
- Less than one year of experience if they have been transitioned to their position from the Newly Licensed Registered Nurse Residency (NLRN) Program
