Job Summary
Assess learning needs and implement teaching strategies for diverse patient, family, and group requirements. Use the nursing process to deliver patient care while effectively delegating and managing nursing team resources. Lead and partner on the interdisciplinary team, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws and accreditation standards. Adapt communication styles and procedures to specific pediatric populations, maintaining respect for privacy and cultural diversity. Perform duties requiring lifting up to 100 pounds occasionally and manage exposure to blood, body fluids, and hazardous medications.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current registered nurse (RN) license in state of practice
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
- Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to present information clearly and professionally
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Ability to be self-directed
- Ability to demonstrate good judgement
- Ability to lift 50 to 100 pounds occasionally
- Ability to lift 25 to 50 pounds frequently
- Ability to lift 10 to 20 pounds constantly
- Ability to walk or stand to a significant degree
- Ability to push and/or pull arm or leg controls
- Ability to work at a production rate pace
- Ability to work in an area where patients enter
- Ability to work directly with patients
- Ability to work with specimens that could contain communicable diseases
- Ability to handle receipt, transport, storage, preparation, dispensing, administration, cleaning and/or disposal of contaminated waste
- Knowledge of current federal, state and local laws
- Knowledge of accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements
- Ability to ensure compliance with all such laws, regulations and standards
- Ability to report any known or suspected unethical or questionable behaviors or conduct
- Ability to protect patient/employee safety
- Ability to protect patient privacy
- Ability to handle exposure to blood, body fluid and tissue
- Ability to handle exposure to hazardous medications
- Ability to handle exposure to hazardous waste
- Ability to work in a healthcare setting
