Job Summary
Escort pediatric patients to exam rooms, review medical histories, and assess conditions while documenting vital signs and patient information in the electronic health record. Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, administer medications and injections, and perform IV therapy while monitoring responses. Assist physicians with treatments and specialty-specific care, triage patient concerns, and coordinate referrals and prior authorizations. Maintain exam rooms, equipment, and supplies according to established standards and infection prevention protocols. Respond to urgent situations that arise within the office setting and support patient education regarding test results and treatment plans.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri (or compact state eligibility)
- CPR Certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire
- Strong clinical assessment and patient care skills
- Ability to remain calm and respond effectively in urgent situations
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with patients, families, physicians, and coworkers
- Ability to interpret and apply clinical policies and guidelines
- Basic computer and electronic health record documentation skills
Desired Qualifications
- Previous pediatric, urology, ambulatory clinic, or specialty nursing experience
- Experience with patient triage and care coordination
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced clinical environment
