Job Summary
Provide professional nursing care to pediatric patients in a clinic setting, escorting them to exam rooms, obtaining medical histories, assessing conditions, and documenting vital signs. Prepare patients for examinations and procedures while administering medications and performing IV therapy. Assist providers with treatments, monitor patient responses, and respond to phone calls for triage and coordination. Document information in the electronic health record and assist with referrals and prior authorizations. Maintain exam rooms and equipment, support urgent situations, and participate in patient education regarding test results and treatment plans. Adhere to infection prevention protocols and Mercy policies. Full-time schedule with competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri (or compact state eligibility)
- CPR Certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire
- Strong clinical assessment and patient care skills
- Ability to remain calm and respond effectively in urgent situations
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with patients, families, physicians, and coworkers
- Ability to interpret and apply clinical policies and guidelines
- Basic computer and electronic health record documentation skills
Desired Qualifications
- Previous pediatric, urology, ambulatory clinic, or specialty nursing experience
- Experience with patient triage and care coordination
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced clinical environment
