Job Summary
Perform direct patient care within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act, with emphasis on the pediatric acute and critically ill patient. The RN in the Super Pool will organize, implement, modify, evaluate, document and maintain the plan of care that is individualized, family-centered and holistic. Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment, participate in process improvement initiatives, and provide high-quality age-specific care for neonatal, pediatric, adolescent and young adult populations. Must be willing to switch shifts as facility needs require and support the mission, vision and values of the organization.
Required Qualifications
- RN license in Texas or Compact license
- Associate’s degree required; BSN within 24 months of hire for RN position
- 2+ years of critical care experience (Tier II) with competency to float to other units within Tier 2 (PICU/NICU)
- BLS/CPR certification
- PALS certification
- NRP certification
- Pediatric Critical Care knowledge
- Neonate Resuscitation (NRP) within 6 months
- PALS within 6 months
- BLS within 30 days of employment start date
- RN Pediatric role requires pediatric acute and critically ill patient care
- BSN within 24 months if hired after 2012
- CCRN/CPEN/RNC-NIC/CPHON/BMTCN preferred
