Job Summary
RN Pedi Super Pool providing direct pediatric acute and critical care within the Nurse Practice Act. The role involves organizing, implementing, modifying, evaluating, documenting, and maintaining individualized, family-centered plans of care, maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment, supporting process improvements, and providing high-quality care across neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, and young adult populations. Willingness to switch shifts based on facility needs and float to other units within Tier II (PICU/NICU) is required. Requires active Texas RN license (or Compact), Associate’s degree with BSN within 24 months for hires after 06/01/2012, and relevant certifications (BLS, PALS, NRP) with specific timelines. CCRN/CPEN/RNC-NIC/CPHON/BMTCN are preferred and will enable broader unit flexibility. Required Qualifications
- RN license in Texas or Compact
- Associate’s degree in Nursing
- BSN required within 24 months of hire if hired after 06/01/2012
- 2 years of critical care experience (Tier II)
- PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 6 months of hire or transfer
- NRP Neonatal Resuscitation within 6 months of hire or transfer
- BLS provider
- PALS within 6 months of employment start date
- NRP within 6 months of employment start date
- ACLS/other certifications as applicable (as listed)
- PICU/NICU experience preferred
- CCRN, CPEN, RNC-NIC, CPHON, BMTCN preferred
- Neonate Resuscitate within 6 months of employment start date
- American Heart Association/AHA or ARC BLS
- American Academy of Pediatrics NRP within 6 months of hire or transfer
