Job Summary

Coordinate high-quality pediatric care and services at the WV Caminos program, including administering medications, conducting emergency triage, and providing health education to youth. Manage medication administration records, transcribe provider orders, and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations through timely documentation and incident reporting. Arrange outpatient medical appointments, coordinate care at outlying facilities, and provide remote nursing support to other Caminos shelter locations during scheduled work hours. Maintain residential medical charts, organize in-service training, and participate in quality improvement processes to support safe and supportive programming for over 1,000 children annually.

Required Qualifications

  • Active compact Registered Nurse license without disciplinary infractions by the applicable State Board of Nursing
  • Certification to provide training, oversight and monitoring for Medication Administration Certification by direct care personnel, as per applicable State regulatory within the first six (6) months of hire
  • Diploma, Associates, or Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing
  • Active Register Nurse License without infractions by the West Virginia Board of Nursing
  • Ability to obtain a Pennsylvania Registered Nurse License without infraction by the Pennsylvania Board of Nursing
  • Two (2) years of nursing experience preferably in a pediatric office, group home setting, and/or residential treatment center
  • Must be able to maintain satisfactory attendance
  • Exhibits excellent customer service, communication, teamwork, safety practices, attendance, punctuality, and strong leadership
  • Time management and ability to prioritize
  • Must be willing to perform tasks that may involve exposure to the patients' blood and/or body fluids
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, applicable federal databases, and other computer applications necessary to support clinical documentation, reporting, and program operations
  • Able to learn and effectively utilize different technology platforms
  • Excellent computer use knowledge with Microsoft Windows 10 and 365 Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Proven effective time management, planning, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to keep an electronic calendar (Outlook)
  • Demonstrates knowledge and clinical expertise in nursing
  • Ability to communicate in a clear, concise manner both orally and written
  • Ability to understand medical abbreviations, terminology, and military time
  • Basic computer proficiency to include MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Basic mathematical skills, including conversions and metric system
  • Knowledge of symptoms and treatment for childhood diseases
  • Knowledge of normal and abnormal human behaviors
  • Knowledge of side effects of medication
  • Must exhibits ability to interact positively with a caring, nurturing and professional attitude
  • Must be flexible and able to multi-task under pressure and deadlines
  • Ability to plan, implement and track effectively
  • Demonstrate a willingness and ability to learn and evolve with changes in the organization and in healthcare
  • Ability to participate effectively on Interdisciplinary Treatment Teams
  • Ability to pass TCI certification both at employee orientation and per the schedule outlined by HR thereafter
  • Ability to pass CPR/First aid certification both at employee orientation and per the schedule outlined by HR thereafter
  • Ability to demonstrate the possession of a valid driver's license prior to employment and ability to maintain the license and operate a motor vehicle thereafter
  • Ability to pass CPS/UII background check both prior to employment and per the schedule outlined by HR thereafter
  • Ability to pass a Tuberculosis Screening both prior to employment and per the schedule outlined by HR thereafter
  • Ability to pass a work-readiness physical performed by a certified medical professional both prior to employment and per the schedule outlined by HR thereafter
  • Ability to pass a Federal and State Fingerprinting Background Check and applicable Suitability Determinations both prior to employment and per the schedule outlined by HR thereafter
  • Ability to pass a drug screen via urinalysis both prior to employment and randomly thereafter
  • Must be able to obtain a Pennsylvania Registered Nurse License without infraction by the Pennsylvania Board of Nursing for remote support of a Pennsylvania program
  • Must be able to obtain a Pennsylvania Registered Nurse License without infraction by the Pennsylvania Board of Nursing

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working with diverse populations, including refugee and/or unaccompanied children and adolescents
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
