Job Summary
RN - PACU at UW Health in Madison, WI. 90% FTE with 8/10 hour day/evening shifts, Monday through Friday, and on-call requirements. Collaborate with surgical, anesthesia, and pain service teams to identify optimal care plans for patients across inpatient and outpatient PACUs, supporting inpatient and outpatient operating rooms and a range of acuity from outpatient to ICU-level. Provide on-call coverage and participate in a team focused on nursing excellence, with opportunities for schedule flexibility and professional development. Requires RN licensure, BLS, and ACLS within 6 months; BSN preferred; 6 months to 2 years PACU/ED/SICU/SICM experience depending on track. Kept at a Magnet-designated, top Wisconsin hospital with strong governance and employee support.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) Preferred
- Current independent PACU, ED, Surgical Critical Care, Surgical ICU, or Surgical IMC experience: 6 months
- 6 months of surgical general care experience with adult populations or six months of inpatient pediatric experience if AFCH Pre/Post/PACU
- 6 months of current independent medical general care with previous PACU experience
- 2 years or more of current independent PACU, ED, Surgical Critical Care, Surgical ICU, or Surgical IMC experience Preferred
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse Upon Hire
- Basic Life Support/CPR Upon Hire
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months
