Job Summary
The RN PACU provides patient-centered care in the PACU, coordinating and delivering high-quality post-anesthesia nursing care in alignment with clinical protocols and physician orders. Responsibilities include conducting thorough patient assessments, administering prescribed medications, assisting physicians during procedures, monitoring post-anesthesia patients (vital signs, airway, pain management), documenting care, educating patients and families on post-discharge care, and ensuring infection control and safety standards. The role involves collaboration with the healthcare team to develop individualized care plans, participate in audits and performance-improvement initiatives, and maintain regulatory compliance. Requires active RN licensure, BCLS, and 0-2 years of acute care nursing experience; ACLS/PALS/NRP are preferred. Location: Laredo, TX (on-site).
Required Qualifications
- 0-2 years of experience in a clinical nursing role or student clinical rotations in an acute care setting required
- RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure required
- BCLS - Basic Life Support required
Desired Qualifications
- RN license in applicable state or compact state
- BCLS (Basic Life Support) required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) preferred
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation) preferred
- 0-2 years of clinical nursing experience or student clinical rotations in an acute care setting
