Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for assigned patients while administering medications per hospital policy. Provide accurate documentation of the care plan, communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and unit staff, and maintain a safe environment for all. Demonstrate independent clinical judgment to solve practical problems and intervene for patient safety or satisfaction issues, escalating concerns to the Nurse Manager as needed. Offer mentoring and support to peers while incorporating continuous performance improvement recommendations into clinical practice. Requires a current Texas RN license, BSN preferred, and minimum two years of medical surgical experience.
Required Qualifications
- Current State of Texas License as a Registered Nurse
- Minimum of 2- year medical surgical experience as an RN
- Must be able to stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, lift, see, speak and hear
- Lifting is limited to 35 lbs. for clinical staff
- Must use an assisted-lift device or get another individual(s) to assist with the lift that is over these maximum limits
- Willing to work a flexible schedule in order to meet the needs of the unit
