Job Summary
RN WOC (Ostomy) provides assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of wound, ostomy, and continence care; acts as a consultant and educator, oversees the WOC Nursing program, participates in committees and QA initiatives, and collaborates with physicians and staff to implement current evidence-based practices. Responsibilities include staff education, policy/procedure reviews, participation in research when feasible, and ensuring documentation tools reflect current practice and compliance standards.
Required Qualifications
- Associate of Science in Nursing required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing required within 1 year of hire
- A minimum of two years of recent clinical nursing experience with wound care/ostomy preferred or two years of medical-surgical experience required
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida
- Certified Wound, Ostomy, Nurse (CWOCN) or equivalent within one year of hire or WOC program letter of acceptance
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
- Intermediate computer knowledge: Uses Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows
Desired Qualifications
- CWOCN certification or equivalent within one year of hire
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing within 1 year of hire
- LPN or RN licensure in Florida (RN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
