Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive assessments and synthesize data to formulate nursing diagnoses, goals, and teaching plans for orthopedic and neurology patients. Implement care plans, delegate interventions, and evaluate patient outcomes against evidence-based benchmarks while reporting responses to therapeutic interventions. Provide patient and family education, maintain accurate electronic medical record documentation, and ensure infection control compliance. Maintain AED proficiency and participate in orientation for new team members. Requires current Texas RN licensure, ADN or BSN degree, and preferred Orthopedic certification. Full-time 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM shifts with annual continuing education on total joint and spine surgery care.
Required Qualifications
- An associate's degree (ADN) or diploma in nursing
- Current State of Texas License as a Registered Nurse
- Lifting is limited to 35 lbs. for clinical staff
- Must be able to stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, lift, see, speak and hear
Desired Qualifications
- A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree
- Certification in clinical area of expertise
- Area of specialty within 2 years of employment (Certified MedSurg, or Orthopedic Nurse)
- Early Acute Stroke recognition and treatment
