Job Summary
Monitor and manage complex orthopedic, neurosurgical, and trauma patients on a 28-bed unit, performing wound care, drain care, chest tube management, and administering PCA/PCEA therapies. Utilize specialized equipment for cardiac monitoring, oxygen therapy, and blood transfusions while maintaining safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement standards. Requires ASN education, one year of hospital experience, and current Maryland RN licensure with Magnet specialty certification preferred. Schedule includes 72 hours biweekly from 6:30 am to 7 pm with up to $10,000 sign-on bonus.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN)
- Active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maryland
- Or a Registered Nurse License from a state participating in the Nurse Multi-State Compact agreement with 'Compact' or 'Multi-State Privilege' designation
- Primary source verification of license
- Additional documentation as required by the Maryland Board of Nursing
- At least one year of experience in a hospital setting
- Ability to apply the standards of professional nursing practice
- Compassion and empathy
- Basic computer skills
- High level of organization
- Communication skills
- ASN (Associate of Science in Nursing) degree
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maryland, or if resident of a state that participates in Nurse Multi-State Compact agreement, holds Registered Nurse License from that state that is designated as 'Compact' or 'Multi-State Privilege' using primary source verification and provides additional documentation as required by the Maryland Board of Nursing
Desired Qualifications
- BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) degree
- Previously grandfathered active RN's who graduated from an accredited nursing school as a Diploma RN (ASN requirement waived)
- Specialty certification recognized by the Magnet Recognition Program
