Job Summary
Assess, document, and deliver patient-centered care for orthopedic and neurosurgical patients during 7pm-7am shifts. Administer medications, monitor for side effects, and assist physicians during procedures within your scope of competency. Respond to medical emergencies, including CPR and code team activities, while implementing infection control protocols and operating medical equipment like IV pumps and ventilators. Provide pre- and post-operative care, manage pain, treat immobilization devices, and educate patients and families on treatment plans and discharge instructions. Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop individualized care plans and participate in audits, chart reviews, and performance improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- 0-2 years of experience in a clinical nursing role or student clinical rotations in an acute care setting
- Strong knowledge of the nursing process and clinical nursing practices
- Ability to perform thorough patient assessments and communicate findings effectively
- Proficient in administering medications and monitoring for side effects
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documenting patient care
- Knowledge of safety standards, infection control, and quality improvement initiatives
- RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure
- BCLS - Basic Life Support
