Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care for assigned orthopedics patients while maintaining professional accountability and coordinating care with other departments. Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by direct care givers and ensure patient rights and confidentiality are upheld. Maintain duties consistent with Mercy's mission, values, and service standards. Perform physical tasks including pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 lbs regularly, along with prolonged standing, walking, and bending as needed. Work full-time day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, Missouri.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following: Associate Degree in Nursing, Nursing Diploma, or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
Desired Qualifications
- BSN preferred
- Additional state licensure or specialty certifications preferred
- Prior experience in specialty area or similar clinical setting
- Previous hospital experience
