Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care for assigned orthopedics patients while maintaining professional accountability and coordinating care with other departments. Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by direct care givers and ensure adherence to Mercy service standards and patient confidentiality. Perform duties consistent with state board of nursing regulations, including maintaining a current Missouri RN license and BLS certification. Requires an Associate, Diploma, or BSN in nursing with previous hospital experience preferred. Full-time day shift coverage from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM with a sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 for experienced nurses.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following: Associate Degree in Nursing, Nursing Diploma, or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
Desired Qualifications
- Previous hospital experience

- Prior experience in specialty area or similar clinical setting
