Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care for assigned patients in the orthopedics unit while maintaining professional accountability and coordinating care with other departments. Evaluate the effectiveness of care provided by direct care givers and uphold patient rights and confidentiality in accordance with Mercy service standards. Perform duties consistent with mission and values, including pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 lbs regularly while standing and walking throughout the shift. Requires a current Missouri RN license, BLS certification, and an accredited nursing degree (BSN preferred). Full-time day shift coverage from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM with up to $10,000 sign-on bonus for experienced nurses.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following: Associate Degree in Nursing, Nursing Diploma, or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
Desired Qualifications

- Additional state licensure or specialty certifications
- Prior experience in specialty area or similar clinical setting
- Previous hospital experience
