Job Summary
Registered Nurse (RN) to provide on-site medical and wellness services within a federally supported residential youth program in Grand Rapids, MI. Role includes direct patient care, triaging urgent/emergent medical situations, administering medications, health education, coordinating referrals, maintaining medical documentation and records, monitoring chronic conditions, and collaboration with residential staff and healthcare providers in a structured, community-based environment. Schedule is full-time contract (up to 40 hours/week) with hours 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, Monday–Friday, no weekends, on-site in Grand Rapids, MI. Requires Michigan RN licensure and ADN (BSN preferred); minimum two years nursing experience in related settings; EHR experience preferred. Responsibilities also include staff training on health and wellness topics, maintaining inventories, and supporting a safe, inclusive campus environment.
Required Qualifications
- Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Michigan
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience in clinical, school-based, residential, or community health setting
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems preferred
- Older Youth Experience preferred in school setting
- Calm under pressure
- RN could spot learning disabilities and/or mental health issues
- Ability to prep medications for students overnight and weekends
