Registered Nurse in the Operating Room provides direct nursing care, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care in patient care situations according to standards of care and policy. Requires teaching and leadership responsibilities, participation in unit committees and quality improvement, documentation in medical records, patient history interviews, medication administration and safety, prompt communication with the care team, and serving as a preceptor. On-call responsibilities are required consistent with the role.
