Job Summary
RN or LPN provides holistic nursing care as part of a multidisciplinary team in inpatient/residential higher level of care (HLOC) or outpatient day programming (PHP/IDP). Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive patient assessments, medication management and education, collaborative care coordination with medical/psychiatric providers, accurate documentation in the medical record, responding to medical/psychiatric emergencies, and ensuring client safety. The role supports supervision of LPNs/CNA/Medical Assistant, performs nursing assessments and tasks (e.g., venipuncture, EKG placement, NG tube feeds), and partners with nutrition and medical teams to monitor meal compliance. Requires ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends, and to operate as Person in Charge after hours. Education: Associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing; current RN licensure; BLS; valid driver’s license; CPI/food-handler requirements per site. Location is Durham, NC with 12-hour shifts and a schedule of 3 shifts per week, self-scheduling Mon–Fri, alternating weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing required
- Current licensure in state practicing or compact as a Registered Nurse required
- Must have valid driver's license and be authorized to drive
- Current Basic Life Support certification required (American Heart Association) within 15 days from date of hire
- Employees at Residential or Inpatient sites in North Carolina or Georgia are required to have a current CPI certification within 30 days of hire
- Employees at Residential site in Washington are required to have a Washington State Department of Health Food Handler permit within 30 days of hire
