Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care for assigned patients in the Rehabilitation department at Mercy Hospital Southeast. Maintain professional accountability for care delivery, evaluate the effectiveness of other direct care givers, and coordinate patient care with other departments. Ensure patient rights and confidentiality of information are upheld while performing duties consistent with Mercy Service Standards. This 12-hour night shift role involves pushing, pulling, and lifting 50 pounds regularly, along with prolonged standing and walking. The position requires a current RN license and BLS certification, with no contract required for eligible candidates.
Required Qualifications
- Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN)
- Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
- Other unit specific certifications as required
- Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift
- Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
