Job Summary
Provide patient care in Labor and Delivery using the nursing process, maintaining professional accountability and coordinating care with other departments. Evaluate the effectiveness of care provided by direct care givers while ensuring patient rights and confidentiality are upheld. Perform duties consistent with Mercy Service Standards, including pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 pounds, as well as prolonged standing and walking. Requires a current RN license, Basic Life Support certification, and either L&D/Postpartum experience or two years in other specialties. Nightshift rotation from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. includes weekend and holiday coverage. Sign-on bonuses range from $5,000 to $20,000 based on experience, with additional incentives for new graduates and tuition assistance available.
Required Qualifications
- Must have RN experience in Labor and Delivery or Postpartum or 2 years RN experience in other specialties
- Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
- Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
- Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift
- Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
- Nightshift only 7p-7a
- L&D 7p-7a rotational weekends and holidays
