Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care for assigned patients in the Pediatric ICU unit, maintaining professional accountability and coordinating care with other departments. Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by direct care givers while ensuring patient rights and confidentiality are upheld. Perform duties consistent with Mercy Service Standards, including pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 pounds regularly, along with prolonged standing and walking. Work 7p-7a shifts with rotational weekends and holidays, utilizing the nursing process to maintain patient safety and care standards.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
- Current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure
- Meeting all state board of nursing requirements
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
- Availability for rotational weekends/holidays
- Full time employment status
