Job Summary
Provide intra-operative assistance to the surgical team during elective, emergent, and urgent cases via a regional on-call rotation. Perform pre-operative assessments, collaborate on care plans, and execute technical tasks including tissue handling, hemostasis, suturing, and instrument use as directed by the surgeon. Manage sterile fields, assist with patient positioning, transport, and room preparation, and conduct post-operative evaluations. Maintain continuous reassessment throughout the procedure and adhere to AORN standards, state regulations, and Kaiser Permanente protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum two (2) years of peri-operative scrubbing and circulating experience in a KP OR or one (1) year experience as an RNFA in or outside of KP
- Certification of Completion from AORN recognized RNFA course
- Successful completion of an RNFA program that meets the AORN Recommended Education Standards for RNFA and criteria for the CB.PMN acceptance program
- Registered Nurse License (Oregon)
- Nurse Operating Room Certificate
- Basic Life Support
- Meets all qualification of an RNFA as outlined in AORN Position Statement
- Must maintain CNOR and RN licensure with the required amount of Continuing Education
- ACLS required upon hire/transfer
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum two (2) years of practice as an RNFA
- CRNFA certification preferred
