Job Summary
Provides direct patient care in a surgical setting as an RN in the operating room, monitoring and managing the patient and the operative environment before, during and after surgery to maintain safety and optimize outcomes. Responsibilities include circulating functions (pre-surgery environment setup, patient assessment, medical record and surgeon notes review, safety checklists), circulating during surgery (monitoring patient condition, documenting interventions, controlling sterile field and room traffic) and scrub functions (instrument preparation and handling, surgical counts). Works with a complex, high-acuity surgical population, requiring critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment. Required: RN licensure; graduation from an accredited RN program. Preferred: BSN and CNOR. Experience options include 6 months of OR nursing or UCHealth Fellowship. Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited RN program
- State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date
