Assess patient status through interview, observation, and physical assessment to develop individualized care plans using a collaborative approach. Utilize evidence-based practice and protocols to achieve expected outcomes, systematically evaluating and documenting progress throughout the shift while modifying plans based on patient condition changes. Perform bedside lab testing and associated quality control, obtain adequate specimens, and troubleshoot equipment problems. Coordinate interdisciplinary care by collaborating with the health care team, delegating tasks appropriately, and providing goal-focused shift reports. Adapt teaching strategies based on patient response and cultural factors to educate patients and families about procedures and hospital experiences.
