Job Summary
Administer medications within scope and hospital policy while assessing, evaluating, and documenting patients' physical and mental status. Establish rapport with patients and families to identify care requirements, promote independence through education on self-care, and resolve problems via multidisciplinary teams. Ensure quality care by adhering to therapeutic standards, measuring health outcomes, and maintaining safe, clean work environments. Keep patient information confidential in electronic medical records and maintain professional knowledge through workshops and publications. Complete annual competency and regulatory education while contributing to team efforts measured by Press Ganey, HCAPS, and AIDET.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Registered Nurse
- College Diploma Nursing
- Certified Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation
- BLS
- ED/ICU
- MED SURG AREAS
- Bachelor's Nursing Preferred
- Thorough knowledge of a variety of medical equipment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Critical thinking skills
- Ability to administer medications per policy and procedure
- Ability to follow the National Patient Safety Goals
- Ability to interpret lab and diagnostic results as it relates to patients status
- Ability to communicate with all disciplines using SBAR
