Job Summary
Administer medications within scope of practice and assess, evaluate, and document patients' physical and mental status. Establish rapport with patients and families to identify care requirements, promote independence through education on conditions and self-care, and resolve problems using multidisciplinary teams. Adhere to therapeutic standards and hospital policies to measure health outcomes, maintain a safe environment, and ensure confidentiality by documenting actions in the electronic medical record. Complete annual competency education and contribute to team goals measured by Press Ganey/HCAPS and AIDET. Requires BLS certification, with BSN preferred; offers sign-on bonus, PTO, and Magnet recognition at Methodist Hospitals.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Registered Nurse
- College Diploma Nursing
- Certified Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation
- BLS
- ED/ICU Requirement
- MED SURG AREAS
- Thorough knowledge of a variety of medical equipment
- Ability to administer medications per policy and procedure
- Ability to follow the National Patient Safety Goals
- Ability to interpret lab and diagnostic results as it relates to patients status
- Ability to communicate with all disciplines using SBAR
- Ability to multi-task
