Job Summary

Assess patients, administer cancer treatments, and monitor vitals while managing side effects and pain. Explain treatments, answer patient questions, and coordinate care with all providers. Support emotional well-being, provide family resources, and maintain strict HIPAA and confidentiality. Complete other duties as assigned. This role reports to the Oncology and IV Therapy Manager with a 7AM to 7PM schedule, three days per week, and alternating weekends.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
  • Current licensure by the Kansas Board of Nursing
  • Successful completion of Citizens Medical Center's nursing orientation program specific to that unit
  • General hospital orientation completed
  • ACLS certification
  • BLS certification
  • Chemotherapy certification or willingness to obtain within six months
  • Ability to maintain good working relationship with personnel in other departments
  • Ability to provide direction in application of nursing process, quality improvement standard, organization and departmental goals and objectives, and the State Nurse Practice Act
  • Interpersonal skills needed to function in a team setting

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs

Desired Qualifications

  • Chemotherapy certification or willingness to obtain within six months
