Job Summary
Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, antineoplastics agents, hazardous drugs, and targeted therapies while performing the nursing process for malignant and nonmalignant conditions. Coordinate interdisciplinary care through rounds and case reviews, ensuring timely documentation and safe quality patient care. Serve as a clinical resource to nursing staff and medical leadership, acting as a preceptor for newly hired RN colleagues. Complete mandatory education, maintain specialty oncology certification, and participate in performance improvement and research activities. Float between Cobb Hospital HODs within 35 miles as needed.
Required Qualifications
- RN license
- knowledge of Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act
- knowledge of American Nurses Association Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards
- knowledge of hazardous drug therapies for treating malignant and nonmalignant conditions
- ability to administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, antineoplastics agents, hazardous drugs, and targeted therapies
- understanding and awareness of age-appropriate and culturally aware needs
- ability to address patient/family biological, emotional, developmental, psychosocial, and education needs
- ability to deliver patient care in complex situations
- ability to serve as a clinical resource to nursing staff, operational leadership, and medical staff
- ability to attend and participate in staff meetings, in-services, special projects and continued education
- ability to serve as a preceptor for newly hired RN colleagues
- ability to float between Cobb Hospital HOD's based on need
- ability to work within 35 miles of Cobb Hospital
- ability to perform the Nursing Process (assessment; diagnosis; identification of outcomes; planning; implementation and evaluation)
- ability to use evidence-based practice, analytical/critical thinking, and ensure care is individualized
- ability to coordinate care through effective partnerships
- ability to provide relationship-based patient-centered care consistent with population-specific characteristics
