Job Summary
RN Oncology ICU role providing high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in an ICU oncology setting. Responsibilities include coordinating and delivering care in collaboration with medical providers and the care team, documenting care in the medical record, teaching patients/families/caregivers about conditions, treatment plans, medications and follow-up measures, and guiding patients/families in lifestyle changes and self-management. Emphasizes adoption of evidence-based practices and participation in quality measures and continuous process improvement within a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes. Requires a graduate of an accredited nursing program and BSN within 24 months of hire if applicable, plus a minimum of one year of experience; oncology/ICU and high-acuity experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing
- If hired after 6/1/12, BSN required within 24 months of hire into RN position.
- Minimum of one-year experience required.
- Experience with high acuity ICU medical / surgical patients is preferred.
