Job Summary
RN Oncology on 5 West Oncology/Hospice unit provides professional nursing care using the nursing process within a patient-family centered framework. The RN collaborates with the Nurse Leader to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and discharge, develops teaching strategies for patients and families, documents education in the health record, and partners with patients/families to align goals in the plan of care. Requires Biotherapy/Chemotherapy certification within one year of employment; Associates in Nursing and Bachelor’s in Nursing required (Bachelor’s to be completed within 5 years). MI RN licensure and BLS are required. This role is part-time, night shift (7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.), located at Troy Hospital, Troy, MI. Required Qualifications
- Associates in Nursing required
- Bachelor’s in Nursing required within 5 years
- Graduates from a non-accredited school of nursing must have at least one year of acute care experience or at least two years in a licensed health care role and must have passed the NCLEX
- MI Registered Nurse (RN) required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required by American Heart Association/American Red Cross/Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation
- Biotherapy certification required within 1 year of employment
- Chemotherapy certification required within 1 year of employment
- Specialty Certification highly recommended within 2 years
