RN Oncology Clinician

Job Summary

Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, antineoplastics agents, hazardous drugs, and targeted therapies in an outpatient infusion center or alternate settings. Perform the nursing process using evidence-based practice to provide relationship-based, patient-centered care that addresses biological, emotional, developmental, and psychosocial needs. Coordinate interdisciplinary communication, complete timely documentation, and serve as a clinical resource to nursing staff, operational leadership, and medical staff. Act as a preceptor for newly hired RN colleagues and participate in staff meetings, in-services, special projects, and continued education. Meet annual requirements for chemotherapy competence and maintain specialty oncology certification or earn 12 continuing education credits annually. Float between Cobb Hospital HODs within 35 miles as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Oncology infusion therapy knowledge
  • Chemotherapy administration competency
  • Immunotherapy administration competency
  • Antineoplastics agents administration competency
  • Hazardous drugs administration competency
  • Targeted therapies administration competency
  • Licensed in accordance with the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act
  • Knowledge of the American Nurses Association Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards
  • Ability to address patient/family biological, emotional, developmental, psychosocial, and education needs
  • Ability to deliver patient care in complex situations
  • Ability to serve as a clinical resource to nursing staff, operational leadership, and medical staff
  • Ability to attend and participate in staff meetings, in-services, special projects, and continued education
  • Ability to serve as a preceptor for newly hired RN colleagues
  • Ability to float between Cobb Hospital HOD's
  • Chemotherapy competence
  • 12 continuing education credits annually
  • Oncology Nursing Society certification or specialty oncology certification
