Job Summary
Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, antineoplastics agents, hazardous drugs, and targeted therapies in an outpatient infusion center or alternate settings. Perform the nursing process using evidence-based practice to provide relationship-based, patient-centered care that addresses biological, emotional, developmental, and psychosocial needs. Coordinate interdisciplinary communication, complete timely documentation, and serve as a clinical resource to nursing staff, operational leadership, and medical staff. Act as a preceptor for newly hired RN colleagues and participate in staff meetings, in-services, special projects, and continued education. Float between Cobb Hospital HOD's based on need, with local travel required.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN)
- Oncology infusion therapy knowledge
- Chemotherapy administration competency
- Immunotherapy administration competency
- Antineoplastics agents administration competency
- Hazardous drugs administration competency
- Targeted therapies administration competency
- Licensed in Georgia
- Knowledge of Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act
- Knowledge of American Nurses Association Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards
- Annual chemotherapy competence requirements
- 12 continuing education credits annually
- Oncology Nursing Society certification or specialty oncology certification
- Associates Nursing or Diploma in Nursing
- Bachelors Nursing
- Local travel
- Float between Cobb Hospital HOD's
