Job Summary
Evaluate patient care needs, coordinate teaching plans, and manage venous access devices including complications. Assess patient and family learning needs, orient families to the chemotherapy and infusion process, and provide psychosocial support by referring to behavioral health, social services, or dietitians. Draw labs for patient evaluation prior to administration, process prescription refills per protocol, and perform telephone triage. Consult with physicians and other nurses to set clinical standards while utilizing effective communication strategies with patients, families, and healthcare providers. Demonstrate informative charting and communicate problems to the department supervisor as necessary.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Nursing program (RN or BSN)
- Current Washington State licensure
- 1+ years of current clinical experience in Oncology setting
- OptumCare is a drug-free workplace. Candidates are required to pass a drug test before beginning employment.
Desired Qualifications
- ONS Biotherapy & Chemotherapy Provider Card Oncology Nursing Certification. If not OCN upon hire, it will be an expectation of employment once eligible
