Job Summary
RN Oncology - Cancer Center per diem position in Lourdes Hospital Cancer Center. Provides professional, comprehensive nursing care for patients, delivering coordinated, safe, compassionate, evidence-based care. Responsibilities include assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care; developing and coordinating patient care plans; administering chemotherapy, antibiotics, blood products, and other therapies; following orders and documenting interventions; advocating for patients; educating patients about disease processes and treatments to improve health literacy; and collaborating with other health care providers to support the patient across the care continuum. Shift hours are 8:00 AM–6:00 PM on weekdays and 8:00 AM–12:00 PM on weekends. Essential competencies include anesthesia? (no), but emphasis on oncology nursing standards, patient education, and professional practice. Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Registered Nurse in the state of employment
- Minimum of two years of practice in an acute care setting (preferred)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Oncology specialty certification recommended including: Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certificate and Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
