Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for inpatient obstetrics patients while incorporating family-centered care principles. Develop teaching strategies for patients and families, document education in health records, and discharge patients according to the nursing process. Provide quality care under Nurse Leader direction while utilizing patient input to plan care and outcomes. This 36-hour week includes night or day shifts (7 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. or 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.) across St. Joseph and Niles campuses. Requires BSN within five years, NCLEX licensure, and certifications including BLS, NRP, and C-EFM.
Required Qualifications
- Associates in Nursing
- Bachelors in Nursing within 5 years
- Graduates from a non-accredited school of nursing must have at least one year of acute care experience or at least two years of experience in a licensed health care role
- Must have successfully passed the NCLEX licensure examination
- MI Registered Nurse (RN)
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - AHA American Heart Association within 90 days
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring Certification (C-EFM) - NCC National Certification Corporation Birthplace within 1 1/2 years
- Night or Day Shift available
- 36 hrs/week
- Variable Weekends Hours
- 7 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. or 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
